SFT-Paris-2019 (Sept. 16-27)

The aim of the school is to bring together PhD students and young researchers with interest in low-dimensional quantum field theory and its applications to statistical physics and condensed matter systems, and to help them building a solid and specialized background on these subjects. The school provides sets of postgraduate lectures covering introductory topics as well as recent developments in the field.

Lectures will be scheduled for four hours each morning, for a total amount of about forty hours, over two weeks. Presentations will be given on the blackboard. The afternoon will be devoted to exercises, studies, and discussions with lecturers and senior participants.

The school will take place at the Institut Henri Poincaré located in the center of Paris, near major research institutions such as the Ecole Normale Supérieure or the Sorbonne Université. Lectures will take place in the amphitheater Hermite. Tutorials will take place either in this amphitheater or in Room 314. Both the amphitheater Hermite and the Room 314, and other common IHP facilities will be available for discussions (when not used for lectures or tutorials).

This school is organized in partnership with the SFT-2019 school of the Galileo Galilei Institute for Theoretical Physics in Firenze (Italy). Partners in the Paris area include the LPENS, the LPTHE, the LPTMS and the IPhT.

Registration is mandatory, including for local or CNRS participants. There are no registration fees.
